Ferrets are domestic mammals that is gaining much popularity as pets in countries where it is legal to domesticate them. There are still some countries that do not allow the domestication of these animals. Ferrets are crepuscular, which means they have to sleep a lot, at least 14-18 hours in a day. They are most active around the hours of dusk and dawn. It's not easy to take care of these animals, because they are not like the usual domesticated animals like cats and dogs.
These animals are meat lovers. Your metabolism requires plenty of protein and fats. Therefore, feeding them a diet that is rich in fiber or carbohydrates are a no-no. Your system, which is designed for carnivorous life, can not digest. So for these animals are meat and fat the way to go.
