Ferret improve life

Ferrets are domestic mammals that is gaining much popularity as pets in countries where it is legal to domesticate them. There are still some countries that do not allow the domestication of these animals. Ferrets are crepuscular, which means they have to sleep a lot, at least 14-18 hours in a day. They are most active around the hours of dusk and dawn. It's not easy to take care of these animals, because they are not like the usual domesticated animals like cats and dogs.

These animals are meat lovers. Your metabolism requires plenty of protein and fats. Therefore, feeding them a diet that is rich in fiber or carbohydrates are a no-no. Your system, which is designed for carnivorous life, can not digest. So for these animals are meat and fat the way to go. You must properly hydrated, which is why they always them with drinking water is also a must.

Just like most carnivores, ferrets are carnivores in the wild. But by not domesticating them, and most owners they can not be. Imagine killing a ferret, kill and eat a mouse, it's not a pretty sight. So the best alternative is to give them canned meat. Good thing there is raw meat products on the market today at doses that are biologically reasonable. These are ideal for domesticated carnivorous pets. Because of their small size, it is advisable to feed them too often, but in small quantities.

Of course ferrets are kept as pets in cages. But in the wild they live in caves. This means that they are accustomed to roam free. That is why it is important for the owner to set them in a cage where there a lot of room to run around freely. This gives them a chance to use and so that they get fitter and healthier.

Before owning one, be sure to look for a vet who has extensive knowledge of ferrets. With a trusted veterinarian is important, because these animals are susceptible to various diseases such as cancer of the adrenal glands and lymph nodes, pancreas problems, hairball and dental issues.

The normal life expectancy of ferrets is 7 years, but with proper care, nutrition, exercise and medical care, it is very likely that these animals would live longer.
