Are in the nature of people who are interested to keep in mind what we have around us, you might want to consider feeding the squirrels around your home! I speak of the observations I have made over my almost 65 years on this earth. Many of those years were in the nature as hunters and observers of what is spent evolved over the decades.
In recent years, I have closely involved in raising and releasing orphaned squirrels. This began in 2008 when a baby squirrel literally fell into my life from a tree in my backyard. Of all visible measurements, the baby was dead. Laying naked in the snow on March 17,2008, it had no signs of life, was blue, cold and stiff and not breathing. I picked it up out of the snow and took him into the house to my wife before it show buried. As I held it in my hand, it occurred to me that many seemingly lifeless people who were in similar situations hypothermia was brought back to life by warming and measures to revive. After the warm up and stimulate the baby and the use rescue breathing techniques, it came back to life, and my wife and I were hooked on squirrels.

I have learn in the past four years, I could know what it takes to raise healthy squirrels. My wife and I took lessons from our State Rehabilitation Organization, and I have read many books of Squirrel experts from the Smithsonian Institute, Ohio State University, as well as information from hundreds of other people who successfully raised healthy squirrel
In recent years I have noticed an alarming trend in the balance of nature in my state. I saw and heard more and more birds of prey to depend, to within the city limits of our town. As I write this, it's late here in my case state. I traveled to a nearby city that night, that got me through much of the country I have to hunt when I was younger. What struck me as alarming lack of Drey, (squirrel leaf nests) in the barren trees which I had passed woodlots. When I was young, all the forests were filled with these leaf nests, shows what a healthy population of squirrels.Squirrels are near the bottom of the food chain. Raptors hang on lynx and fox squirrels and rabbits as a food source. In recent years, most of the continental United States has seen on the balance of the food chain an invasion and proliferation of the Coyotes, who has made an enormous impact. The absence of squirrels over the landscape may explain why hawks and eagles even begin to hang out in the cities.
If this trend continues, there may come a day when squirrels play in your garden a story that you tell your grandchildren how you will be pictures of what it used to look like show! If the squirrels go, so everything is up in the food chain!
What can be done? One thing that we can do as people is just to stop squirrels as pests. Many people complain that squirrels invade their bird feeders. My answer is: "Yes, squirrels have to eat too!" Many birds feed, but not as many squirrels feed. The problem is that if the squirrels are gone, the song birds will be the next target of animals in the food chain!
Squirrels have a hard life. A pregnant female gives birth to the end of February to March. If it is not fed well dry up her milk and she is forced to take babies from their nest to their milk supply will last. Baby squirrels, like the ones I found, subject to robbery in the early spring of opportunists like hungry crows' nests tear sheet in addition to finding these little appetizers. Female squirrels also give birth in late summer (their second season of birth.) These babies have a very difficult time in colder climates, as they simply do not have enough time to gather enough food for the coming winter. Many of them die of hunger and exposure over the winter because her mother is not a good father and they do not continue to eat to provide their children as soon as they are weaned.
In the past four years, my wife and I raised and released 17 orphaned squirrels that never had a chance, would life be if we never cared for and fed them. Each has contributed to the population of bushy tails in our neighborhood. We were on our site to advise and educate thousands of people about what it takes to be a healthy squirrel population in their own sites have advice for the care of orphans, which is a good squirrel food, squirrels treatments for common diseases and providing of free recipes and products for good health insurance for squirrels. An abundance of healthy squirrels will contribute to good health all the way up the food chain, plus it gives individuals the opportunity to participate in a very rewarding and fun pastime!
