The Gouldian Finches are native to Australia. People all over the world wanted this colorful bird after its discovery in 1844. From that time until 1959, thousands of these birds were distributed all over the world. Today the descendants of those original birds are still bred in captivity. The distinctive colors of the rainbow or Gouldian Finch make it through people everywhere desirable.
