Ferrets are wonderful creatures, but they have not been associated with humans for as long as cats and dogs. We learn more than ten thousand years to about cats and dogs, but ferrets learn only a few thousand to over. As a result, some of their behaviors ... different.

Digging and scratching

Be careful if you have dogs, however. Labs, for example, should not be allowed in the vicinity of rice box. A lab could be a nip of rice and do not know when to stop.
Also note that sometimes the ferret is accidentally eat a piece of rice. Note that if you clean their litter box.
Business
Cats bury their feces by instinct. Dogs leave their excrement outside her cave. Ferrets, on the other side until you return and do their business in one corner. Almost all ferrets do. It is rare that a fuzzy, does just to find his business in the middle of the room. A ferret will not go up, or even to another room to do his business. He finds a close, comfortable corner.
So you need a lot of litter or pooping papers.
The less ferrets you have, the more success you will have with litter box training your ferret.
I started my boys away in a small cage, which was just big enough for her bed, food and water, and a litter box. Because they did not want to mess their beds, they used the litter box. Falling asleep in strange places
Ferret play hard and sleep hard. Sometimes a ferret can not happen crawl a nice, dark hole and sleep. This can be frightening for their people who do not know whether the fuzzy is in order.
Find out if your ferret responds to squeaky toys. About two-thirds of my ferrets come to a squeaky toy. This is nice if your ferret is in a new place that you know do not sleep. About a third of my ferrets awaken from a dead sleep when a loud squeaky toy is used. I hope your ferret is one of them!
The best bet is to block, however, "good" create "bad" sleeping area and alternative beds....
