A Portable Chicken Coop

If you are planning a backyard flock of a dozen or fewer chickens, a portable chicken coop or chicken coop tractor have a good way to go. There are several advantages to having a portable coop. The first advantage is, it is obvious portability. Because portable coops are built on legs with wheels, they are easily moved from one part of your yard to move to another. 

 In the fall, after you have harvested your garden, you can park your portable coop there, let your chickens use the soft soil, abundant insects and plant material left over. The chickens will not only clean your garden spot for you, for they will inherit the earth turn in the process. The third advantage could be appropriateness. If you are planning to raise chickens for their eggs, you do not need a huge herd. Most hens lay an egg every day or two. If you want to sell separately, a small flock is very reasonably meet your needs. 


And finally, the fourth advantage is intimacy. If you want to increase your chickens as pets rather than livestock, a portable coop is that you can bring them closer to the house where you get to know their individual personalities. This size of a coop allows you to have close interaction with your chickens and they will feel more like pets.
